This is a semester long course that is designed to introduce High School students to Agriculture Education and the FFA Organization. Students will be taking part in classroom and laboratory work in the area of Agriculture Mechanics: Carpentry, Electricity, Welding, Plumbing, Masonry, Surviving, and Agriculture Structures. In addition, students will be discovering these areas further on their own through the development of an individual SAE (supervised agricultural experience). Throughout the year students will be a member of the FFA Organization; taking part in activities to formularize themselves with the organization every Friday, take part in chapter, community, regional, and state events to develop their leadership skill and career skills.

Expectations and Goals

It is the goal of the program to endow Learners with 21st century skills needed to achieve Success in their future endeavors, in the areas on agricultural conservation, education, management, and production.


Student’s overall grade for this course will be based on work in all three components that make up Agriculture Education: 30% SAE, 30% FFA, and 40% Classroom/laboratory instruction.

*** Students will have a 1-1 IPads that be utilized for different classroom/laboratory activities throughout the course***

This class will be utilizing Google Classroom for students to have access to course content and assignments, similar to that of a college course. Students will need to use the code below to join the class for the 2018-19 school year by September 1st

* Please parent do not join the class, as it is a college course and will interfere with students work. If you wish to see what students are working on, contact me at jross@turkeyfoot.k12.pa.us 

  1. Click the class and then Students. The class code is on the left.

  3. Send an email to students with the class code or write it on the board in your classroom.
  4. Give the students these instructions:
    1. Sign in to Classroom at classroom.google.com.
    2. On the homepage, click Add Add and then Join class.
    3. Enter the code and click Join.
